Jury @ Kunstbende

I feel quite honored to be asked as a jury member for Kunstbende, a national art competition for kids. This year will be Kunstbende’s 20th anniversary and the theme of the competition is ‘time’. Thinking off which, it must be almost 15 years ago that I myself competed for regio Noord-Brabant… time flies.

StrangerAward Show LIVE broadcast!

After months of hard work the results are visible, Stranger Academy Amsterdam 2009 is going full speed. More then 150 creative kids have been flown in from the outskirts of Europe to attend a week of workshops, screenings and more. For this year’s festival I’ve taken care of the art direction and design and I’m happy to see how Studio K has been transformed into Stranger Paradise with posters, tshirts, flags, TV’s, it’s own newspaper; Stranger Times and off course lots of Strangers.

This Saturday 17 October will be the grand finale when the annual StrangerFestival & theoneminutesJr awards will be presented. StrangerNews will be on location reporting this full evening program. 

All 35 nominated videos in 7 categories will be screened. There will be interviews, unexpected guests and even some backstage madness. Studio K has been converted into a television studio especially for the occasion. I’ve taken care of the motion design for the live show and am really excited how it will look tomorrow.

Art direction and design for StrangerFestival Amsterdam 2009. Posters, flyers, stickers & banners promoting StrangerFestival and StrangerAcademy and trailers and bumpers for the StrangerFestival Award Show.

StrangerFestival is an international event and online platform for self-made videos by young people on issues that matter to them. For the StrangerAcademy (14-17 October 09 in Amsterdam) young video artists and professionals can come up with a concept and conduct in one of the 3-day video workshops.
